When a community comes together, incredible things happen. Right NOW, we have an opportunity to do something truly powerful, something that honors Norah Rayne Smitherman’s life and will create ripples of hope for generations to come!

Norah was a 2022 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Forbush High School, a devoted member of Collide Church, and a young woman whose kindness, faith, and leadership touched everyone around her. Her life was a beautiful reflection of service and strength, and her spirit continues to inspire us all.

Through the Live Like Norah Memorial Scholarship, we celebrate Norahs values of kindness, faith, and leadership by supporting students who strive to make a difference. Each year, two graduating seniors, one from Forbush High School and one from Starmount High School, receive a renewable $1,000 scholarship, up to $4,000, to help them pursue their education and career dreams.

But we believe Norah’s legacy deserves more than today and tomorrow, it deserves forever! That’s why we’ve partnered with the Shallow Ford Foundation to grow this scholarship into a fully endowed fund. Endowed scholarships are powerful because they never stop giving. They symbolize the strength of a community united in purpose, and they ensure that Norah’s light will shine through the lives of countless students for years and years ahead.

This is our moment to make an impact that lasts. Every gift brings us closer to that vision, a future where Norah’s values of kindness, faith, and leadership continue to ripple through Yadkin County and beyond.
